Our Philosophy

There are always those who will represent the corporations, the developers, the industries — but who will stand up for the forests, for the rivers, for the animals, for future generations who cannot speak for themselves?

MEJA exists to help balance the equation, to make sure that environmental decisions are made with full consideration of all of the interests at stake, regardless of ability to pay.

We shall never achieve harmony with land, any more than we shall achieve absolute justice or liberty for people.  In these higher aspirations the important thing is not to achieve, but to strive.
